Executive Director Of AAPAS Awards
The African American Performing Arts Society & Ceo of OnLive Magazine April Pantheress Winn
April is far from new to the industry—her journey has been extensive and deeply rooted in both local and global communities. She has consistently supported others by encouraging passion, uplifting goals, and promoting positive motivation within their craft.
As the creator, director, and star of her own TV show “I Luv What I Do TV,” April lives by her motto: “Who loves your passion more than yourself?” Through her platform, she has traveled, filmed, and interviewed a wide range of legendary, established, and emerging artists. Her guest list includes icons such as Howard Hewett, Charles Wright, Susan Thomas (guitarist of Taste of Honey), Mel Waiters, Lydia Harris (Death Row Records), Lenny Williams, Parliament artists, Cocoa Brown, J. Blackfoot, Millie Jackson, Denise LaSalle, Oscar Alston, and many more talented individuals.
April has also covered major events, including NAACP Awards red carpet interviews, Blackmen Magazine annual events and fashion shows, and Jus Blues Awards red carpet interviews in Memphis, Tennessee, among others.
In addition to her media work, April is a dedicated promoter and event coordinator who has collaborated with numerous business owners to execute successful events and programs over the years. She once served as an assistant to the legendary Garland Green, an experience that inspired her to introduce OnLive Magazine—a platform created to honor and celebrate legendary artists
who paved the way and deserves recognition.......She lives by the belief:
“Give flowers while they can appreciate them in the wonderful years of life.”
April has also mentored emerging artists, helping them understand the fundamentals of awareness and growth in the industry. As a performer, she has been part of several bands throughout Houston and the San Antonio area.
Currently, she leads her newest project, the Black Kat Funk Band—a dynamic group of talented musicians dedicated to celebrating funk and old-school music.
Through her involvement with AAPAS, April’s goal is simple yet powerful: to give her all, uplift others, and create opportunities for everyone—from business professionals to artists—to shine in their craft.

We are the light of the world.
A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.
Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket.
But on a stand , it gives light to all in the house.
In the same way, let our light shine before others,
So that they may see your good works.
